Make Doll Clothes Hangers From Plastic Canvas

make doll clothes hangers

Today I would like to share with you a free plastic canvas pattern to make doll clothes hangers for all your 18 inch doll clothing. These are quick and easy to make. There is a great video on YouTube showing how to make doll clothes hangers from heavy wire.  I tried it but the wire was difficult to twist and I didn’t like that the end of the wire had the potential to snag clothes no matter how tightly I got it twisted.  So I decided to use a different material. I have seen Barbie doll hangers in the past made from plastic canvas.  So I thought why not make one that is a little bit bigger to use in the doll clothes armoire my husband made for me. One thickness of plastic canvas isn’t quite sturdy enough to handle some of the heavier AG doll clothes.  However, by using … Continue reading

Doll Cast Iron Skillet

doll cast iron skillet

Every dolly cook needs a good doll cast iron skillet in her kitchen.  I found mine at a local Cracker Barrel Restaurant and it made a great addition to the kitchen display I am putting together. You might also be able to find a doll cast iron skillet at your local sporting goods store.  I have seen them at Gander Mountain and Bass Pro shops.  They are commonly sold as spoon rests.  At just 3.5 inches in diameter, they are the perfect size for 18 inch dolls. If you are unable to find them locally, you can find them on Amazon. Miniature Cast Iron Skillet MORE INFO You will have to excuse the state of my doll stove! It is a fixer-upper Wolverine tin stove I purchased for a steal on eBay and I just haven’t had the chance to refinish it yet. A doll cast iron skillet is just … Continue reading

Make a Doll Clothes Armoire

Make a Doll Clothes Armoire

Do you need a way to organize your doll clothes and accessories? This project to make a doll clothes armoire might be just what you need to keep everything neat and tidy. Most of what I make is for my daughters, but I do have a couple of AG dolls myself. So I have long wanted to make a doll clothes armoire to store clothes I have made and bought for myself. Since it is for storage only, I don’t mind if it is the correct scale for dolls.  My main concern is plenty of storage space.  (If you are looking for an armoire that is the right scale for doll play, I highly recommend the Victorian Wardrobe Armoire from The Queen’s Treasures.) Make a Doll Clothes Armoire I started with a ClosetMaid 2 Door Stackable Organizer in white. With a few modifications, it makes a great place to store … Continue reading
