Keep your dolls warm with this cute Valentine Doll Headband Earwarmer crochet pattern. It’s simple enough for a beginning crocheter as long as you know the basics.
With Valentines Day quickly approaching, I wanted to share a couple of Valentine’s Day doll crafts with my readers. Over the weekend, I was doing some crocheting for my daughters’ dolls and came up with this Valentine Doll Headband Earwarmer crochet pattern. It is quick and easy to complete. I made about 4 of them in a couple of hours, trying to get the pattern just right.
Materials needed to complete the Valentine Doll Headband Earwarmer crochet pattern
- Size F Crochet hook (I like these padded crochet hooks from Crochet Dude)
- Worsted weight yarn in white and red (or colors of your choice)
- Yarn needle
Terms used in the pattern
- dc – double crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- sc – single crochet
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sts – stitches
Valentine Doll Headband Earwarmer Crochet Pattern
Rnd 1: With white yarn, Ch 44. Join to make a circle, taking care not to twist the chain. sl st in 1st 5 chs, sc in next 34 chs, sl st in next 5 chs. Join.
Rnds 2 and 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 34 sts, sc in next 5 sts, join.
Rnd 4: sl st in 1st 5 chs, 34 sc, sl st in next 5 chs. Join.
I recommend completing the first round of the Valentine Headband earwarmer crochet pattern and then trying it on your doll to check the fit. Everyone crochets differently, some produce tighter stitches than others. If need be, you can remove some of the starting chains or add more. When adjusting the pattern up or down, be sure to add or subtract from the middle 34 stitches in each round. You want to keep the 5 beginning and endings stitches that create the thinner band that goes under the hair.
Heart Embellishment Crochet Pattern:
With red yarn, Ch 2. Work all stitches in 2nd ch from hook. Work 5 hdc, 4 dc, ch 1, sl st, ch 1, 4 dc, 4 hdc. Join with sl st to first hdc of round and finish off. Pull yarn tight to close up the hole in the center.
Sew the heart embellishment to the side of the headband earwarmer, referring to picture for placement.

Our model today is my youngest daughter’s doll Lauren (My AG #53). She is wearing
- Soft as Snow Outfit from American Girl
- Tan Sherpa Trim Boots from the Springfield Collection. (I love that their shoes are so reasonably priced and fit AG dolls!)
